Anti-wrinkle treatments have been used widely in aesthetics since the 1980s. A purified protein, the injections work by blocking the signals between the nerves and muscles, which reduces muscle contraction and softens the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

The treatment takes only around 15 minutes and patients can generally return to their normal activities immediately.

The effects will start to take place within a few days, and by two weeks, patients are left with a smoother, more youthful appearance. The effects last, on average, around three to six months, and over time, patients generally find they require treatments less frequently as the effects start to last longer.

Anti-wrinkle treatments have also been found to be effective in reducing migraines and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).

The results of anti-wrinkle treatments are mainly dependent on the skill and experience of the clinician.

You can expect to see results after 4-7 days, but your best results will be after 10-14 days.

There is no real downtime when having anti-wrinkle injections but you might have some minor bruising or swelling directly after treatment. For the best results, avoid touching and massaging the area for the rest of the day. Also, avoid heavy exercise or sauna/steam rooms for 24 hours after treatment.
