Mr Jamil Ahmed is a Consultant Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon with over 30 years of NHS experience, during which he has successfully performed thousands of procedures. He is a Council Member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) and the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), a Member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand, and a graduate of the Surgical Leadership Program at Harvard Medical School.

Mr. Ahmed undertook specialist training in Plastic Surgery in Southwest England and London, playing a pivotal role in establishing the Hand Surgery service at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, where he worked for a decade before moving to Aberdeen in 2014. His expertise spans hand surgery, skin oncology, breast reconstruction with free tissue transfer, and aesthetic surgery.

Mr Ahmed achieved the FRCS (Plast) in 2013 and was awarded Fellowship in Plastic Surgery by the Royal College of Surgeons. He also holds the European Fellowship in Plastic Surgery and is entered on the GMC Specialist Register. He is currently Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where he has also served as Head of Department.

Passionate about education, Mr Ahmed is a GMC-recognised trainer, a Fellow of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and Course Director for two International Hand Surgery Courses in London and Aberdeen.
