Eyelid Rejuvenation (upper or lower Blepharoplasty) surgery counteracts the tired and worn out appearance that eye-bags or hooded eyelids can create.
The procedure refreshes and brings a new openness to the eyes by removing fat, excess skin and muscle from the upper and/or lower eyelids resulting in a wide-eyed effect that can literally transform your face.
The eyes are one of the first areas of the face to show signs of ageing. Age, stress or genetic predisposition can result in eye-bags, loose crepey skin and hooded eyelids that can make individuals appear tired, sad, or even much older than they are. Many patients tell us they are often asked if they are tired, even when they’ve slept well, and for women it becomes difficult to apply eye make-up.
Most commonly, patients combine upper and lower eyelid surgery for total eye rejuvenation to turn the clock back on ageing − your surgeon will assess and advise you on the best course of treatment for your desired results.
Blepharoplasty is now one of our most popular surgical procedures and you can rest assured you’re in safe hands with our team of highly experienced surgeons.
Benefits of Blepharoplasty / Eyelid Surgery include;
Upper or lower eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is an option for droopy or sagging eyelids which may keep your eyes from opening completely or pull down your lower eyelids. Removing excess tissue from your upper eyelids can improve the application of makeup. Upper and lower lid eyelid surgery can make your eyes appear younger and more alert and generally less tired.

Upper and lower Blepharoplasty is a relatively short operation that can be performed in approximately one to two hours and does not require an overnight hospital stay. The results are apparent quite soon after surgery and the recovery time is usually very quick. There is very little discomfort, however there can be some bruising and swelling. Our expert team are highly experienced and will advise you of how best to minimise any bruising and speed up recovery.
Blepharoplasty or Eyebag Surgery can be done under local anaesthetic and involves the surgeon making tiny incisions along the natural crease of the eye, carefully separating the skin from tissue underneath and removing or repositioning the fatty tissue before stretching the skin and stitching it back together ensuring any wrinkles are smoothed out
Following surgery, most patients are ready to return to work after 7 days, although we recommend that any strenuous activity should be avoided for at least three weeks. This very much depends upon the individual and their work, please ask your surgeon who will advise accordingly.
Our extensive aftercare package means that after your surgery, follow up appointments will be arranged with your operating surgeon to ensure your continuing care and best possible results are achieved.
Eyelid Reduction at Cavendish Clinic is one of the simplest and safest cosmetic surgery procedures you can have. Your highly experienced surgeon will carefully make incisions along the natural creases of your eyes resulting in minimal, if any, scarring.
Your surgeon will give you pre-operative advice at your initial consultation which may include having an eye test if you have eye health issues, stopping smoking or taking certain medications such as aspirin which may delay healing, and you may choose to take arnica tablets prior to surgery to reduce any bruising.
Your surgeon may advise for you to take a week off work depending on your particular case as you may have minor swelling and bruising around the eye area following your surgery. This will subside within around ten days and is completely normal. Your stitches will be removed 3-5 days after your eyebag surgery and you are able to wear makeup one week afterwards. If you feel any discomfort, your doctor is able to provide pain relief for you though this is not usually necessary. It can take up to a few months for your eyelids to completely settle and to see the final result.
Our experienced Medical Aestheticians are able to answer any questions you may have and give advice on any treatments or issues. Get in touch today and see how we can help you achieve your goals.
